Our Original Briefcase embodies the philosophy that’s guided Filson for 125 years: manufacture uncompromising products using the best available materials and construction. Products that withstand the rigors of daily use for years on end, that are handed down rather than tossed out. Nearly three decades after its introduction, our iconic briefcase remains a testament to the old-fashioned idea that if a thing is worth doing, it’s worth doing right.

Rather than waxed canvas, Rugged Twill was chosen for its exceptional abrasion resistance. This industrial-strength fabric comes from Britain’s oldest, most-storied mills, and is lightly waxed to keep valuables dry and protected from the weather. The Bridle Leather for the handles, straps, and reinforcements is strong and durable enough for horse tack. It’s been slowly vegetable-tanned over several weeks in natural plant-based solutions that transform top-grade cowhide into sturdy, supple and lustrous leather that molds to the shape of your hand over decades of use. The rustproof heavy-gauge zipper is built from solid brass and is reinforced with more of our saddle-grade leather. Sand-cast brass hardware is debossed custom for Filson.

Construction details were carefully considered in this briefcase, even those that go unseen, such as the Tin Cloth binding on the interior seams that prevents fraying and wear. Two interior dividers keep contents organized, and are sized to accommodate tablets and smaller laptops. Exterior stow pockets keep quick-access necessities close at hand, and the adjustable Bridle Leather shoulder strap is detachable for convenient hand carry.

How to Return an Item:
To initiate a return, please use our Returns Portal link provided. A flat $5 return fee will be deducted from your refund, and we will provide a prepaid shipping label for your convenience.

1. Log in to your account: (Sometimes the SHOP app will pop up and automatically let you log into your account. If not, please follow instructions below.)
    1. In the "Email" field, enter your email address, and then click "Continue".
    2. In your email account, open the email sent from our store and copy the six-digit verification code included in the email.
    3. Go back to the online store, and then enter a six-digit verification code.

3. If your order has more than one item, then select the items that you want to return.
4. Select a return reason and add a note for the store.
5. Click "Submit request".

30-Day Return Policy:
We want you to be completely satisfied with your purchase. If for any reason you're not, you have 30 days from the date of delivery to return your online purchase.

Non-Returnable Items:
Please note that the following items are not eligible for return:

  • Sale items
  • Grooming products
  • Food items

Exchanges:
If you wish to exchange an item, please provide the details of the item you'd like to exchange for in the "Additional Notes" section during the return process. We will contact you to assist with the exchange. **PLEASE UNDERSTAND that the item you wish to exchange may not be in stock by the time we approve the return. The best way to ensure that you can get the item is to purchase the item and then initiate a return for the other.

*Please allow 5-7 business days for the refund to take place and show up in your account. This is AFTER we receive the item and approve the return.

Holiday Return Policy

Gifts bought between NOVEMBER 1st and DECEMBER 24th can be returned for a full refund by JANUARY 6th but MUST HAVE RECEIPT. 

Gifts may be exchanged or given store credit until JANUARY 13th. 

Items must be new, unworn and with tags/labeling intact. Should the item be returned without the original receipt, a store credit will be issued for the amount of the item(s). 

Manufacturer errors merit a refund for any defective item(s) within 7 days notice. ALL CLEARANCE ITEM PURCHASES ARE FINAL UNLESS EXCHANGED FOR SIZE.

Non-Holiday Return Policy

REFUNDS MAY BE ISSUED WITHIN 7 DAYS OF PURCHASE, STORE CREDIT OR EXCHANGE WITHIN 30 DAYS, ONLY WITH ORIGINAL RECEIPT. Items must be NEW, UNWORN AND WITH TAGS/LABELING INTACT.  Should the item be returned without the original receipt, a store credit will be issued for the amount of the item(s). Website Policy

Due to the time involved with shipping and handling, refunds and exchanges may be issued within 30 days of purchase. Items must be new, unworn, unwashed, and with tags/labeling, original packaging intact. Should the item be returned damaged, worn, washed, or without the original packaging, we will maintain the right to refuse a refund. Manufacturer Warranties

Many of the brands we carry offer excellent warranties, some even lifetime warranties. If a purchased item is protected with a manufacturer warranty, all matters pertaining to warranties are between the customer and the manufacturer. Beau Outfitters is not responsible for upholding the warranties offered by manufacturers. While we are happy to contact the manufacturers for an issue, however, we recommend customers contact them personally so that they can directly address the issue and get any information they need.

*Manufacturer errors include any malfunction or abnormalities that clearly occurred during production of the item. This includes, but is not limited to, stitching, construction, coloring, functioning parts or pieces, etc.
