In an effort to continue flattening the curve, Florida Mayor Lenny Curry announced that he is issuing a Stay-At-Home Executive Order mandating that citizens remain at home except for critical and essential needs. The order will take effect Friday, April 3, at 12:01 a.m. Beau Outfitters is committed to keeping our employees, store and community as our top priority during these uncertain times; therefore, we will be following this order and closing the store until further notice.
Tomorrow, Thursday April 2, 2020 we will be open from 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM. Starting Friday, as the Stay-At-Home Executive Order mandates, we will be closed to the public until this order is lifted. We will, however, be working from home and occasionally inside the store processing any online orders and shipping them out as soon and as safely possible.

]]>That's not something you hear of often these days.
Maybe "Might as well shop for the best deal."
Or "Might as well just buy something cheap and replaceable since I'm hard on things."
We believe that the best purchase is one that is an investment to your lifestyle, and generally, the best investments are those that have been sustainable and have stood the test of time. You cannot find a brand more fitting for such a description than Filson.
Filson was founded in 1897 in Seattle, WA as an outfitter to prospectors headed to the Klondike for the gold rush. A story central to what Filson is and the company’s appeal. Men throughout recent history have trusted Filson’s products for more than 100 years for hunting, fishing, prospecting, logging, and other outdoor pursuits. That’s the appeal, and that’s the brand. All of the products are made in the USA and the majority of them hand sewn in their Seattle warehouse.
So how does it translate to today?
In a world where things move incredibly fast and are almost thrown away immediately, Filson provides an opportunity to slow things down and play the long game. There is comfort in knowing these products are not only guaranteed for a lifetime, they will last a lifetime. Can you think of many men harder on their goods than gold rushers in the mountainous Yukon?
C.C. Filson said it best himself: “If a man is going North, he should come to us for his outfit, because we have obtained our ideas of what is best to wear in that country from the experience of the man from the North — not merely one — but hundreds of them.”
Thankfully, their goods are now geared towards temperate Southern climates as well, but the durability and quality remain. If you're going to purchase luggage or a briefcase there is no better option than one that will age like a fine whiskey and withstand all of life's elements.
All Filson products will stand the test of time. We have customers regularly tell us stories of Filson heirloom pieces passed down from fathers and grandfathers. There is almost no brand that can be spoke of in such a way.
To us, being a Filson dealer is an honor and we hope you appreciate the quality of well made goods as much as we do.

An easy step-by-step guide on how to re-wax your Barbour jacket at home.
]]>We talked with one of the best men's blogs out there about how we started Beau Outfitters.
]]>This morning, on the "Today Show", Matt Lauer teamed up with Detroit-based watch company, Shinola, to benefit a charitable cause. Shingle manufactures the amazing Filson watches we carry. It's great to see two American manufacturers come together, and the impact that domestic industry can have.

This week, we sat down with one of our buddies, Bryan Horn, to talk about the origins of Over Under Clothing. He's a Georgia boy expat running a wildly successful company out of Jacksonville, with over 350 retailers nationwide. We'll be teaming up with Over Under this Friday for our fourth annual Florida v. Georgia Kickoff Party at the store. It's always a great time and we hope to see ya'll there!
Tell us a little about your background. Where are you from, where'd you go to school, how'd you develop a passion for the outdoors?
I'm from Sandy Springs, Georgia. I attended Riverwood high school in North Fulton County, and then went on to major in Business Marketing at the University of Georgia.
I developed a passion for the outdoors at a very young age thanks to my father and grandfather. My grandfather was from Mobile, Alabama and he loved to hunt and fish. We spent lots of time at my grandparents house in Hope Hull, Alabama and that is where I was able to get out of the suburbs of northern Atlanta in to the woods to hunt deer, quail, turkey, etc. as well catch plenty of freshwater fish with some of my granddad's favorite old lures.
I was always more at home in the outdoors than I was anywhere else. My grandfather had a few different birddogs and, as a youngster, there is nothing more fun to me than carrying a shotgun around in the woods with man's best friend at your side. Not only did my grandfather and father introduce me to the outdoors, but they drove home the fact that we always had to have an appreciation for and respect what God created and has loaned to us.
How'd you get the idea for the brand Over Under Clothing, how'd you get it started, and what were your key products to launch the brand?
I worked at a fine men's haberdashery right after graduating from UGA. That is really where I came to know and understand fine quality clothing and timeless design. It was at the store that I became familiar with brands such as Vineyard Vines, and Southern Proper, which were brand new at the time. I appreciated both of those brands and their lifestyle appeal, but I really wanted to do something on my own that had more meaning to me, personally. I was an avid outdoorsman and fell in love with the breed of Labrador retrievers in college, so this is really where the idea for Over Under was born. I felt like having a brand that focused on the sporting lifestyle and my love of the outdoors as well as man's best friend was something a lot of people could relate with.
The very first products we launched the brand with were:
I know American made products are the staple of the brand. Tell us why that's important for you guys and why Americans should care about it.
"American-made" is important to Over Under Clothing because, as I began to set out with my initial research for Over Under, I found out that less than 1% of clothing that is sold in the US is actually cut and sewn here. I grew up in a family that was dedicated to buying American-made products, so I told myself that the main thing we wanted to do different than any other clothing brand would be to create something that was authentic in the fact that we were truly helping keep and create jobs in America. Just two decades ago, "American-made" truly meant something, and it usually meant better quality. It is Over Under's mission to make that true again. We believe fellow Americans should care about our mission because we've learned firsthand of the harsh working conditions and low wages that foreign workers are paid to produce some of our competitor's clothing. We believe in keeping, and creating jobs here while producing goods that are made by American citizens being paid a fair wage. Keeping dollars within our shores fuels our country's economy and that is a basic trickle down economic formula that we whole heartedly believe in.
Tell us a little bit about some of the US manufacturers you guys use.
Two of the US manufacturers that we would like to share a little bit about are our belt manufacturer located in Pennsylvania and our wallet manufacturer in North Carolina.
Our belts are made by an Amish community using many of the traditional tanning methods, as well as the primitive handtools that have long since been replaced by machinery in most other belt manufacturing facilities. I felt like teaming up with Amish manufacturers was ideal because they have been making saddlery and tack-leather goods for multiple generations and they never skimp on quality!
I was able to visit with our wallet manufacture in North Carolina just recently. It was an experience I will not forget because I was able to shake the hands of over 20 employees that we personally help get a paycheck because we chose to make our wallets in the USA.
What are some of your favorite items from your fall collection?
That's a very tough question because I think this is my favorite collection we've had thus far, so I have many favorites. If I had to choose to three of them, I would say that our men's Waxed Briar Field Jacket, our new Bison-Hide Belt with authentic buffalo nickel, and our Old School Camo Cordura hat are some of my favorites.
What do you like to do in your spare time away from Over Under?
When I have spare time… which is pretty limited these days... I enjoy spending time with my wife, two little girls, and now nine-year-old chocolate lab Lottie Grace. She is actually the inspiration for our logo. Due to having young children, I don't get to hunt and fish nearly as much as I used to, but I still manage to get out in my flats boat, duck boat, and kayak a few times a year to chase redfish and waterfowl. I am very excited for my girls to get a little older so that they can join me on these adventures. Not only do we believe in American manufacturing, but our company motto is "Preserving the Sporting Lifestyle", so it's very important to myself and my team to pass along the importance of preservation and conservation for our natural world to the next generation.
Tell us some your favorite memories about Georgia v. Florida weekend.
Actually one of my favorite memories from the Georgia Florida weekend was just last year. Being able to co-sponsor an event with Beau outfitters and meet fans from both teams the Friday before the game was a lot of fun. We made custom cornhole boards for both teams and even gave away a YETI cooler for all of those that participated. It is always enjoyable to see the town of Jacksonville and the San Marco Square area packed with fans on this weekend. It is even more so meaningful and memorable when people get behind local businesses and local brands during GA vs FL! Being a diehard Georgia fan though, it's an awesome weekend all around and I have a lot of great memories throughout the years.

The best part of Beau Outfitters, without question, is the people we have the pleasure of meeting and working with. As a part of our regular journal entries, we will start to focus on some the interesting and influential people we come across directly or indirectly through Beau Outfitters. Everyone has a story and we want to do our best to help tell it.
Our first sit-down is with a guy who happens to be a close friend of ours. He works as a Financial Advisor with Merrill Lynch here in Jacksonville and we've teamed up with him to sponsor a watch party for the Jacksonville Jaguars Thursday Night Game vs. the Tennessee Titans. The event is being put on by the JAX MVP Program and will be held at the new Intuition Ale Works and will benefit the Jacksonville Jaguars Foundation, a foundation created to service the greater Jacksonville area through strategic, financial, networking and volunteer support for disadvantaged youth. We met up with Doug at the brewery to find out a little bit more about the organization and the event:
Tell us a little bit about the Jacksonville MVP Program and how/why it got started.
JAX MVP is a leadership program developed by the Jacksonville Jaguars Foundation. The program focuses on developing participants’ skills in leadership, community stewardship and networking, while also raising money for the Foundation. Each JAX MVP member has committed to raising $5000 for the Jaguars Foundation, which will have a great impact on the Jacksonville community. The MVPs attend a meeting each month at EverBank Field for seminars with local leaders.
What kind of individuals are involved in the organization and how did you get involved?
For the inaugural class, the Foundation reached out to partners, sponsors, and other businesses in the Jacksonville area to nominate emerging leaders. I personally was nominated by Merrill Lynch to represent our firm in the program. While this was the approach taken in the inaugural year, the Foundation may open the nomination up to a broader group of companies and applications in the future.
How'd you get the idea for this particular event and what purpose does it serve for the community?
Stephen Frick who is a fellow JAX MVP and I came up with the event after attending a party the Jaguars Foundation hosted in the locker room and training facilities at EverBank Field. There were a lot of local restaurants who supported the event and made it a very unique and awesome time. We thought let’s try to recreate the event as best as possible around an away Jaguars game. I personally didn’t think it was realistic, but the support from local businesses (especially Beau Outfitters) has been awesome and allowed the event come to a reality.
What made you choose Intuition Ale Works and the partners for this event?
If you have been to the new Intuition Ale Works location I think that it speaks for itself. When we first spoke to Intuition about the event they were going through the final stretch trying to get the Bay Street location open. Things were hectic for them to say the least, but they still gave us the time of day and were extremely supportive of the idea to host the event. Once the location was locked down we reached out to other local businesses to partner up for the event. Black Sheep, Bistro Aix, iL Desco, Ovinte, Mojos, and V Pizza all are donating food for the event. Can you think of a better food lineup to choose from when watching a football game? Other local companies have contributed prizes for a raffle including a Yeti Cooler donated by Beau Outfitters, gift cards to many local restaurants, Jaguars autographed memorabilia, and many more awesome gifts. I can’t express enough thanks to all the partners on this event. It’s been overwhelming to see how much support there has been from the local business in our community for this great cause.
Do you see a cultural influence being made by young professionals in Jacksonville and around the country? If so, why do you think it's important?
I do see young professional getting more involved with cultural and community influence around Jacksonville. The Jacksonville Jaguars and their foundation have provided a great platform in the JAX MVP program for young professionals to begin getting involved in the community. It’s important to raise awareness to the needs in our community, but it is equally as important to provide an outlet for people to help contribute to the community. Outside of providing a great time for all the supporters attending our event we are hoping to help them gain awareness of where they can help influence and make a bigger difference in our community.
Why do you think it's important that they give back to the community and those in need?
It’s important to give back to the community because the community has given so much to us. It’s where we choose to raise our families, work, and have fun. Giving back to the community not only improves lives of those in need, but it improves the surroundings where we live our everyday lives. As part of the JAX MVP program we have helped the Jaguars Foundations programs for education, children and families, women’s health issues, and military and veterans support through North East Florida. A rising tide lifts all boats and giving back to our community helps the tide rise for everyone who is living it.
What do you think about the Jags performance this year and how do you see the rest of the season playing out?
I think everyone is a little disappointed with the performance so far. I’m a glass half full kind of guy. Maybe in this case it’s to a fault, but I still think we are headed in the right direction. We have an opportunity to make the playoffs by capitalizing on our weak division. It’s time for the team and coaches to show up and take advantage of the opportunity at hand. I think we will do it this time.
Lastly, give us some specifics about the event.
The event will be Thursday, October 27th at Intuition’s new Bay Street location. It’s is going to be a great night of Jaguars Football, Food, and beverages. Included in the ticket will be food provided by Black Sheep, Bistro Aix, iL Desco, Ovinte, Mojos, and V Pizza. There will also be a beer provided by Intuition, a raffle/silent auction for prizes including a Yeti Cooler donated by Beau Outfitters, gift cards to many local restaurants, Jaguars autographed memorabilia, and much more to come. Most importantly, all proceeds from the event benefit the Jacksonville Jaguars Foundation. What’s better than having a great time while supporting an even better cause?

]]>There are some things that rarely go out of style. At Beau, we think it’s important to keep the classics in your closet. Our clothes personify the modern outdoorsman – the man who is passionate about the outdoors, but also has the ability to clean up nicely and have an effortless sense of style.
As much as the birthday suit is intriguing, we believe in Mark Twain’s thoughts that clothes make the man. We’ve put together five fall essentials for your closet that transition easily into cool weather, yet needed all winter long. Here’s a break down of each item and our thoughts on each:
All of these items are functional for fall and stay true to what we believe embodies the modern outdoorsman. They are completely versatile and considered essential for your closet whether you are in the woods, tailgating or headed into the office.
Now that we’ve done some of the work for you, shop around and check out more of the new weekly arrivals coming for fall. These aren’t the ONLY items we have up our sleeve!
Enjoy.

]]>College football kicks off this weekend. It’s almost like the official start of the holidays, where the ladies start getting excited about Pumpkin Spice Lattes and Christmas movies… while us guys have football on our mind. People all over the map are road tripping to college towns, meeting up with old friends and plotting out their tailgate strategies (or they’re still in college waking up, throwing on clothes and walking outside to kegs of beer – if only that was still the case for some of us). Nowadays, fans take weeks to plan and eagerly await the moment to whip out their gameday gear, get all nostalgic and drive around to count the brand new buildings and food stops each college has popped up over the past year.
It’s nothing different for us over at Beau, besides anticipating the arrival of our latest gameday gear. We like to keep our standard orders flowing in with Peter Millar collegiate polos and button downs… along with Southern Tide’s Team Driver polos, State Traditions’ hats and more. This classic look and fit is something we think is almost standard for early on in the season. For those later games, we have Peter Millar quarter zip pullovers embroidered with all of your favorite teams arriving mid to late September. These pullovers pair well with almost anything. If there is a team we don’t have that you’d like for us to carry, please feel free to shoot us an email and let us know – info@beauoutfitters.com.
We also decided to bring out new gameday koozies and decals to cater your tailgating needs. This year, we stuck with local Florida teams, but as we grow online we will start adding to the teams we offer -- because no one can ever have enough koozies!
Let's get this party started. Cheers to college football kick off and good luck to all of the teams out there!

First off, we want to welcome you to the brand new Beau Outfitters online store. We’ve been working on this for quite some time, so we are extremely happy to finally share our company and lifestyle with all of you.
Our Field Notes will serve as the direct line for all happenings related to Beau Outfitters. From product reviews, to recipes, on location, events, you name it, we’re going to cover it. It’s our mission to not only present to you a great selection of products but to also invite you in to our world a little bit. We hope you enjoy!
We couldn’t kick it off with anything better than Independence Day Weekend. Happy Birthday ‘Merica! We all have long weekends ahead filled with healthy doses of the outdoors, beverages, and BBQ. Yeah, we are in peak summer, so feel free to cut it loose this weekend, but some basics should be covered. Think of this as your survival kit.
For starters, keeping drinks cold is key. This summer has been hotter than Hell already and the last thing you want is a scalding hot drink to go with it.
If you want to make sure things are ICE cold then look no further than Yeti. For mixed
drinks, go for a Yeti Rambler (30 oz. because ‘Merica). They will literally stay cold out in the heat all day and you can refill with the same ice cubes several times. It’s basic economics, really.
Go-To Beach or Poolside Cocktails:
Chase's Go-To: Goombay Smash (portions vary on user and time of day)
Ryan’s Go-To: Tito’s and Soda
50% Titos Handmade Vodka
50% Club Soda of choice
2 Lime Wedges
100% Delicious.
If you’re sticking to beer or coke, go with the Yeti Colster. Same insulation as the Rambler and it fits a can or a bottle snug. If you’re trying to keep it casual and rep Beau Outfitters, the new Patriotic Beau koozies are pretty awesome and will keep your drinks “tasting like freedom” this weekend.
Speaking of repping Beau Outfitters and being patriotic, we’ve also recently released our new American Summer t-shirts as well as our classic American Flag hat.
Functional clothes will make the difference this weekend. You want to be able to transition seamlessly from beach to bar, pool to restaurant, boat to house, without having to worry about changing things up. We’re talking quick-dry and sun protection.
A button-down fishing shirt is your best friend on weekends like this. It is defined by “going with the flow”. Don’t know what your plans are after the beach? Doesn’t matter, you’re set. We’ve got a selection from several different brands.
For a little more casual approach in the same ballpark, long-sleeve sun-shirts are another excellent choice. They will keep you cool with a lightweight stretch ploy material and protected with 50 UPF.
Final option for shirts are the stretch performance golf polos. These speak for themselves and are a must during Southern summers.
For bottoms, there’s only one way to go. AFTCO Original Fishing Shorts. They are our favorite shorts and a staple in our store. Introduced in 1989 for serious fisherman, these shorts are the GOAT. They are quick-dry Supplex nylon, stain resistant (made to prevent blood stains when fishing but works for everything), they come with a variety of pockets, including a side plier pocket that also conveniently fits an IPhone, and they come in great fit with a wide variety of colors. You can’t beat them and you can’t just buy one color. You can try, but it won’t last. They’re just that versatile. You can dress them up with a tucked in shirt and a belt, or wear them as just a swimsuit. They look great either way.
Lastly, if you want to show off your primary colors, we’ve got several red, white, and blue themed swim trunks that will help get the job done.
Stay safe out there this weekend and enjoy yourselves. Also, remember, mixing fireworks and alcohol is generally a bad idea. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.
